I just finised working out a .32 rifle for the fall squirrel season. Nice handy little gun.

It shoots a 40gn patched round ball loaded behind 30 gn of powder that zips it along at around 1700fps.

For them that are counting, that is 175 shots from a pound of lead and over 200 shots from a pound of powder. A small game getter that runs for 6 months on a pound of pyrodex and a couple of dozen wheel weights.

On paper it has almost the same power as a .22 mag, but shooting it is a different story. This thing took big chunks out of a 6" fence post and gave total penetration. It acts more like a reduced load 30-30 than a hot .22. In an emergency, inside 50 yards, I would not hesitate to use it on deer.

Sometimes it's the little things that count.
