I have a shotgun that is kinda scratched up and I would really like to put a new finish on it to make it look better. Has anyone here ever used this DuraCoat finish stuff? From what I have read, it sprays on, like paint, and then cures to a very good hard finish. Does this stuff work well? Is it difficult to apply? I talked to a gunsmith at the last Phoenix gun show and he wanted almost $200 to apply DuraCoat. Besides, I like learning for myself. I would appreciate any advice before I buy this stuff. It is always adverstised in Shotgun News and is sold by a company in Wisconsin called Lauer Custom Weaponry, they are at http://www.lauerweaponry.com
Thanks!!

I haven't personally applied it, but I've been there and watched it applied. It's freaking easy. Just get an airbrush from Harbor Freight, and it sprays right on. A friend sprayed my trunnions on my AK before I assembled it, and the overspray from it won't come off... Trying to figure out what to do about that, but anyway. It's VERY durable.

I'm thinking of having one of my AKs Duracoated as well. I've got a few friends who have had rifles Duracoated and they look fantastic. and like Uraijit said it's VERY durable.
Hince the name.
