I'm sure all of us have a decent tactical light for our weapons. Mosat likely we all have more than one. But here is a couple of very good, moderately priced lights that a just good to have around the house or your B.O. Bag.
I found these lights about 6 months ago at the local Wally-World and picked them up since I needed a good dependable light for my bag and also one to use when I need both hands free. These are made by the Rayovac company and I can tell you from personal experience that they are TOUGH. I've beat, banged, dropped, stepped on and basically knocked the hell outta these lights and they still work. I'd be careful with the headlamp due to it having a smaller size but the flashlight itself is aluminium bodied and it was essential last month during my "well-going-dry" fiasco. They use AA batteries so that is a definite plus.I've gotten several hours of life out of them. In my honest opinion, they would make a great addition to your camping gear. day-to-day gear, or bug out gear. You can pick them up for around 15-20 smackers.

I get good clear view with mine up to 200 yards if my battery is new.
It's more powerful than you'd expect.

Head lights are good to keep in your truck in case you have to change a flat tire after dark .
Thanks for the info.

I don't have nothing particular to add, except new type of the Chinese cheap multi lead torches, be it with help of lens or functional convex mirror can give as much light and as focused beam as the expensive single 1W-3W LED torches. Trick is you must find a sturdy construction that will not fall apart immediately , but thats shot and miss game with Chinese products...

With the quality of products coming out of China right now, I have to agree. However, if Patriot endorses these lights, that's good enough for me. I will check my local Wally World and see if they have any on sale. Great Review!

I use a 3 watt LED mag light for work. I have dropped it, used it as a hammer, I even ran over it with a tractor trailer and it still works like new. I also had several of those 2 AA mini mags around, so I bought some of those cheap 1 watt LED conversion kits from harbor freight and converted them. They have also been very dependable. ( just don't install the button that comes with the kit)

*EDIT* They're $10.00 @ Wal-Mart, not $12.00
2 white LED
1 red LED
Comes with 3 x AAA batteries

I've used mine for camping (read: dropped & thrown about in camping bag, and still works fine) the last 3 years and am still using original batteries. It's been perfect for my needs - illuminating my immediate area (at least 20') very well, and can make out larger objects (trees, trail entrances etc) about three times that distance. Distance increases with less moon light. They have another version with more LEDs, but I have no interest. I still see them @ Wally World, and have considered picking up a couple others for BO bag & glove box.
