Hi all;
New member here and at the sister site !
Does any one have any experience trying to carry the JHP45 concealed? I have a shoulder rig, but it does not do a very good job of concealment.
Maybe someone knows of a high ride belt holster that would work ???
Thanks for another good Forum!!

I have tried to carry it concealed, but it's really large and heavy to carry that way. I haven't been encouraged to keep trying. It's a house/glove compartment gun for me.

I own both the JHP and a Glock 21 (.45 fullsize/service). I carry the 21 in a paddle holster on the right side under a jacket. I'm a big dude (6'3" 260lbs), but I probably wouldn't risk it if my state had ambiguous 'exposure' rulings. My opinion is that the JHP is just too big for concealed carry.
Censorship, like charity, should begin at home; but, unlike charity, it should end there.

I carried the .40S&W version back and forth to IDPA shoots using a slightly modified Uncle Mikes Side Kick Nylon Holster. If I were to go out eating or around the town after the shoot I just kept carrying it without reserve as I knew the pistol was 100% functional with Ranger 165gr H/P's. While its a big pistol I learned that the Uncle Mikes Holster kept the .40S&W close to the body and a wide 1 1/2"inch belt supported the weight just fine.

I have carried many different side arms, in many different rigs. when I was an undercover narcotics officer I carried my Colt 1911 inside my pants just forward of my right back pants pocket with a shirt over it. ( No Holster) I found that it concealed easy, was accessible, and comfortable.
I have carried the Hi Point in this fashion and don't have a problem with it. Just be careful!
I have never been a clip on holster fan, one of my partners walked in on a robbery in progress and when he drew his weapon the holster stayed with it. When I use a holster,I carry my Hi Point 45 or my Hi Point 40 in a Uncle Mikes nylon rig and belt it in place.
I also purchased two holsters from Hi Point with the mag pouch forward. Not a bad holster, a little bulky though.
I have found that a shoulder rig is rather bulky with a Hi Point. The bottom line is find what you are comfortable with.
I plan on purchasing one of the Fobus rigs, I have read many great reviews on them.
Good luck.

Agreed. It is a large weapon better suited for home/vehicle. That being said, friends who own the .45 Hi Point report that it has been utterly reliable. Another great Hi Point product!! Every home should have one!!!

It's not impossible to carry a large pistol, it just requires the right cover garment:

That, and a Fobus holster, will allow almost anyone the ability to carry their JHP. I carry my Hi-Point C9 or my Glock 22 o.w.b. without any problems. Tons of pockets and way comfortable.
